Retirement is a magical time when you don’t have to go to work anymore. You can escape the rat race, and the hassles of others. Depending on the career you’ve had, this may be your dream – it’s certainly the dream of many.
Being at the age where retirement is a short step away for a lot of Gen Xers has us thinking very seriously about what it may look like. The culmination of work, family life as we’ve known it, and the inevitable health issues that seem to plague our parents (and soon us), may not make it seem like the Shangri la it once looked like.
There seem to be more questions than answers, and Gen X looks like the generation that may approach retirement, and live retirement differently than the previous “Boomer” generation.
Wealth: A lot of Gen Xers spent the better part of our working lives paying down debt from our youth. It could be from student loans or many other things that life throws our way. There is a multitude of reasons to continue working, even after retirement.
Waistline: Depending on your physical fitness level and lifestyle leading up to retirement, you may not be able to remain as active as in your 30’s and 40’s. A safe and effective way to reduce some pounds, and feel better, and improve the quality of your life is to reduce your weight. Reducing calories seem to fit the bill for many. Start slow and set a goal.
Wisdom: Whether it’s remembering where you parked the car, or even why you opened the fridge, keeping your memory sharp is especially important as you simplify your life and head into retirement. Use these 7 strategies to keep it sharp.

Have an awesome week.
